What is Blu Ray Disc? What Does It Work?

With the emergence of computer systems, information about these systems to be transferred, and stored some physical items began to be searched. Years ago, the VCDs that replaced the floppy discs that were found in our lives took the place. More DVDs have been created when VCDs have just become familiar with the storage of slightly larger data.

This time, DVDs became more fashionable, with much larger data stored and movies stored. But in the last few years, DVDs have become insufficient due to the rapid development of technology. Very spectacular sizes produced with computer games and high-quality cameras in the DVDs began to fit into movies. For this reason, the external memory manufacturers had to sign a new invention when the Flash Discs were inadequate.

Blu-ray Disc

Blu-ray Discs that use blue laser technology are usually produced in a capacity to store data from 7 GB to 100 GB. In addition, the name Blu-Ray is due to blue laser beams during the production due to the disc is blue in color. It is possible to store recorded movies on Blu-Ray discs with a quality of 1980 x 1080. Because of the use of more advanced technologies during its production, it can easily allow these operations. In addition, Blu-ray Discs can be operated on computers or DVD players.

Blu-ray disc

With the Blu-ray disc, it is not necessary to take an external coach-player for movies that want to be watched or for games that want to be played. It’s very pleasing for the users. In addition, in recent years, Blu-Ray Discs were being sold at a high cost. However, the fact that blu-ray discs have become widespread in recent years and different production companies have entered the sector has caused a decrease in the price of Blu-ray discs. This is a fairly good improvement for users. But as we are new to Blu-Ray Disc technology, we may be faced with a new disc shape at any time. Due to this, it is better to store Blu-Ray discs in advance.

Differences Between Blu-ray Disc and DVD

All DVDs are exposed to the red laser during creation. The red laser has a wavelength of 650 nm. However, blue and purple lasers are used when writing Blu-ray Discs. Because of its different colors, it is much easier to focus and process the data volume. Thus, the lasers that are effective in processing Blu-ray Discs reach a wavelength of 450 nm. Large data fields can be opened on much smaller areas. In this way, DVDs can be imprisoned in limited areas such as 4 GB, while Blu-ray Discs can store between 5 GB and 100 GB.
